Educor Holdings, home to some of South Africa’s most popular education brands such as Central Technical College, Damelin and CityVarsity hosted its annual Intercampus Sports Day on 14 September 2016. Thousands of students and spectators gathered at Damelin Bramley in Johannesburg for a fun-filled day.

The event is a significant highlight in Educor’s calendar, providing an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their cultural and sporting talents. The sporting codes included, soccer, netball, volleyball and E-games.

The opening ceremony kicked off with Master of Ceremonies, Simo Nzama who set the tone for the high-energy sporting festival. Students from Damelin Vaal added to the entertainment by wowing the audience with various skits and Pantsula dancing.

General Manager of CTC Pretoria, Thavaseelan Pillay joined his students in a healthy competition among fellow brands. CTC came out tops in the netball division, with students winning the coveted netball cup and individual medals. “I am proud of my students. It was great to meet and interact with other students from other campuses and share the day together”, said Thavaseelan.

Each student showed true spirit and determination in their chosen field of sport. Competition was tight, making it an exhilarating watch for spectators.

Head of Communications for Educor, Jessie Naidoo, impressed with the camaraderie on the day said, “The grounds beamed with colours from all of our brands as they came together and shared their talents and sportsmanship. We are passionate about bringing fun into education and this day demonstrated campus life with a difference.”
