Staff and students from Central Technical College participated in the Nelson Mandela Day campaign on 18 July. Nelson Mandela Day is celebrated across the Educor Group annually to offer a helping hand to worthy causes across the country.

For our CTC campuses across the country it was a heart-warming time for students and staff to get involved in organisations they hold close to their hearts.

CTC Braamfontein visited the Door of Hope Children’s Home where they assisted with the washing and sorting of the baby clothes. Staff also spent their time feeding and playing with the babies.

CTC Pretoria visited the Lerato House, a transitional residential facility for young girls at risk in the inner city. They spent the day with the girls and also sponsored groceries.

CTC Durban staff visited the Durban SPCA and donated various food items for the animals in need.

CTC Cape Town donated loaves of bread and beanies to the homeless.

General Manager of CTC Durban, Seelan Reddy said, “The Mandela Day project resonates with the principles of CTC and this year our four campuses chose projects that they are passionate about, making a difference in the community. This is certainly an initiative that we will continue to do every year.”
